Archbishop of Keewatin-Le Pas

Most Reverend Susai Jesu, OMI, is the Archbishop of Keewatin-Le Pas. Originally from India, he was ordained in 2000 and arrived in Canada in 2007 to begin a lifelong dedication to Indigenous ministry. His extensive preparation includes foundational orientation in the Truth and Reconciliation, Trauma and Recovery programs and Enculturation. Archbishop Susai spent eight years serving the northern Cree communities of Pelican Narrows and Sandy Bay, Saskatchewan, where he learned the Cree language. He holds master’s degrees in psychology as well as Counselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University in Ottawa . Following eight years as pastor of Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples in Edmonton, he served the Lac Ste Anne Shrine and surrounding Indigenous parishes before his consecration as Archbishop of Keewatin-Le Pas.
