Catholic Healthcare: A Mission of Service to the Community and the Vulnerable

Catholic healthcare in Saskatchewan was built on the vision and mission of our founding religious congregations, who responded with courage and compassion to the needs of their time. Rooted in the Gospel and guided by a deep sense of service, they established hospitals, schools of nursing, and long-term care homes to care for the sick, the poor, and the most vulnerable in society. Their work was not only about treating illness, but about affirming the dignity of each person, offering comfort, accompaniment, and hope.

This foundation of service to community and the vulnerable remains the cornerstone of Catholic healthcare today. We continue to carry forward their legacy by providing care that is compassionate, holistic, and inclusive—addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of all who come to us, regardless of faith, background, or circumstance.

Emmanuel Health Leaders will be having a facilitated session discussing their organizations’ same commitment to service to community and the vulnerable in the following areas of Healthcare in Saskatchewan:
